As an Asian American man on the dating market in the United States, I’ve noticed that I don’t really have many options. As a tall, educated, reasonably handsome Asian man, this would probably not be true if I lived in a major city in Asia. I imagine if all other factors were held the same except that I were white, however, I would have a lot more options in America. I used to be envious of that sort of position. Yet, more options could be a paralyzing thing. It’s far more difficult having to choose one from a lot of options versus having a limited number of options. I’ve never really thought of it this way. Maybe I should take some time to be grateful for what I have.
