In our modern society, many people regard the “friendzone” as this sort of undesirable, terrible place to inhabit in a relationship with another human being they have feelings for. It’s really not as bad as you think it is, and it may not even be because of an absence of requited love. It’s basically like getting silver at the Olympics. You just missed the gold. Of course, sometimes the difference between gold and silver is eons apart, but still, it was a valiant effort and at least you didn’t get bronze or, worse yet, missed the podium all together. People I’ve zoned as friends, of which there are many, are honestly still on my mind. Your efforts and kindness do not go unnoticed. You just need to keep shooting your shot. There will always be other competitions. I’m cheering for you. And who knows, maybe that gold is a cheater…
