When you start dating men, you quickly realize that the distribution in quality is far more vast for men than for women. There are some men who are almost quite literally made in the image of God–I don’t just mean appearance–while others, well, not so much…

As someone who considers himself to be above average on the dating bell curve, I do experience some creeps every now and then. That’s part of being above average. It’s unavoidable if you’re looking for love in the general public. So what is a creep? A creep is an obsequious individual who will go to whatever lengths to get what he doesn’t deserve. It’s about fairness. Creeps are an unavoidable part of life because, the reality is, not every person operates on the same level. Your dad might be a creep.

I’ve learned that it’s really difficult to shake off creeps because they tend to follow you. So how do you avoid them? I think the answer is that you have to outcreep the creep. You need to descend to their level–or lower if you can manage it–so that not even a creep would want you. In other words, you need to act. Trust me, it works.
