I wrote a few days ago about how I’ve been using the budgeting apps to keep track of my finances. Well, after watching an investment influencer discuss finances, I’ve also downloaded an investment app on my smartphone. The nice thing about this app is that it has a learning component to it; however, the cost is a little bit more as I am actively investing my monthly income. I’ve set the amount of money invested initially to be minimal so that, while I’m still learning, my bank account does not spiral into the abyss.
The learning features on this app is actually quite helpful as it introduces me to some basic personal finance terminology and concepts that I’m not aware of. It’s also just really nice to be able to learn from practical experience (i.e. play with real money) versus doing this virtually through, say, a finance course, which can get a bit dry.
I’m overall just really happy with making a step toward these apps, even though they do require an initial investment. The knowledge that I will gain through their usage will surely set me up for a financially informed future.
