I knew an individual who once felt the need to prove that he loved his partner. For the sake of his privacy, I will not disclose who this person is. Anyhow, I think when there’s an instance where one needs to prove that one loves another individual, there is an issue, for I think love comes in different flavors. Love is multifaceted and not the same for every pair. It is very much a subjective feeling. When one needs to prove love is present, it becomes a very childish thing where one is essentially not acknowledging the love of other human beings, which can be damaging. Love comes in multiple forms even outside of romantic love: there is platonic love, the love of strangers and love of kin, though these forms are all distinct from one another.
