In the past few weeks, I’ve been really exploring the capacity of AI to replace people in the workforce–particularly with computers and in the informatics field–and I’ve reached a conclusion. AI is really good a doing repetitive, menial tasks. It, for instance, allows me to do what a for loop can do in programming term without actually writing a for loop. I can just dictate to the computer with a question to process massive amounts of data and it does it for me. It can follow a simple pattern and repeat it indefinitely. No need to learn what a for loop is along with the logistics of setting up the analysis.

Yet, anything more complicated than a for loop, AI has major issues with. This includes writing more complicated code. AI struggles with complexity, something that expert humans in particular excel at. AI is like a factory worker or an assistant on the computer. Because of this, it makes sense that AI is taking away a lot of entry-level jobs where much of the tasks is indeed rather menial. So to all you people who worry about your jobs being taken away, it’s perhaps time to buckle down pick up some study material.
