Thirty minutes is around the maximum time I can spend at the gym on any given day nowadays. In college, I remember knowing a few gym bros who were able to spend up to two hours working out per day or maybe every other day. That’s sort of inconceivable to me at this point in time, or perhaps at any point in time rather. I can’t image lifting weights or spending my time in an exercise room for longer than an hour. I just simply cannot do it.

This conjures up the question of motive. What impels one to work out that hard for that long? It’s one thing if you’re a professional weight lifter and there’s a goal you want to achieve, but working out for the sake of working out and, I suppose, looking good is not an incentive structure that I’ve been able to get on board with personally, much as I’ve tried.
