I’m absolutely loving Los Angeles. Part of that is that I own an automobile, so it’s really easy to get around the city. The traffic here is actually not as bad as a lot of people, particularly the movies, make it out to be. It’s quite manageable if you have the map app and plan it accordingly. It’s just like any other major city, except everything here is relatively spread out, including the neighborhoods and such. It’s actually quite nice. The people here are also great. Los Angeles is obviously the home of the entertainment industry, and there’s a lot here to get involved with.
The Los Angeles Tennis Association is one such entity that’s really been quite enjoyable. I may think about stepping back a little bit now that I’ve found some close friends through the club. It’s interesting that there’s a wide mix of individuals in the LGBTQ community. Some of these people are not particularly individuals with whom I’d hang out. Others, I’m trying to get close to and really nurture a relationship with. At the end of the day, I think everyone in the league is trying to discover love and maybe find it within the community. The first step I think is to define what love is and then to really find it through exploration and searching. The last two parts I imagine are the most difficult.
I think another attribute of Los Angeles that I’m very happy about is its racial diversity. The distribution is a very mixed group of individuals from all walks of life, and it’s really about discovering where your niche is and where you fit into everything. That’s probably harder said than done.
