I’m at the age when a lot of my peers who have done relatively well are starting to settle down and purchase houses. I was just thinking the other day that if I purchased a house, how it would not necessarily make me happy at this stage in life. I would just be miserable living in a larger abode with a few more rooms, probably in a location that I detested, which is somewhere in a random suburb.

Thus, this supports the general notion that I’ve found the material things in life, though important for sustaining a baseline level of contentment, will not necessarily make me happy. I think if it’s happiness one seeks, one needs to aspire to something much higher. I don’t think most people achieve the level of happiness or success that they set out to attain. Most people I think lack the ability to do so.
